Hot Salt Bluing
A deep anthracite-black finish on steel
Hot Salt Blue your firearm to apply or reapply the layer of protective blue.
Matte finish is a sandblasted finish with 100 grit Aluminum Oxide and treated with a dry film oil. Great for industrial parts or parts not requiring high surface finish. The bluing layer sticks and grows immediately for a dark black.
Semi-Gloss is a sandblasted finish then buffed out to remove the dullness. Treated with a dry film oil. Great for restoring firearms or bluing nicer parts with surface finish in mind.
High Polish is a sandblasted finish then buffed out and polished to a mirror for bluing. Treated with a dry film oil. Reserved for higher end parts and projects. For example, for a revolver there will be multiple man hours spent going up grits and polishing to a mirror.
Surface finishes will be upcharged as necessary based on selection and total order amount. This is to account for man hours spent buffing and polishing

We are currently only bluing handguns and similarly sized objects.
Bluing is currently done in batches. Batches can take anywhere between 4-8 weeks to get to the minimum starting volume. For a rush fee (depending on your project) it may be done quicker.
